KB Crates Terms of Purchase & License Agreement
Last Updated: September 6, 2026
These Terms of Purchase & License Agreement (“Terms”) govern purchases made from KB Crates through kbcrates.com, including the download, installation, activation, and use of KB Crates software, knowledgebase content packs, templates, and other digital products.
For purposes of these Terms, “KB Crates,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to KB Crates, the seller and provider of the products offered through kbcrates.com.
By purchasing, downloading, activating, installing, importing, or using a KB Crates product, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms.
If you do not agree to these Terms, do not purchase, download, install, activate, import, or use the product.
1. About KB Crates
KB Crates develops and sells digital products designed to assist website owners, hosting providers, administrators, and other organizations with knowledgebase content, knowledgebase management, integrations, and related functionality.
Certain KB Crates products may be designed specifically for platforms such as WHMCS, WordPress, or other third-party software.
KB Crates is an independent provider and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or operated by WHMCS, cPanel, WordPress, Automattic, Plesk, Elementor, or other third-party platform providers unless expressly stated otherwise.
2. Digital Products
All KB Crates products are digital products.
No physical product will be shipped.
Depending on the product purchased, your purchase may include:
- Software or add-on files
- Knowledgebase content packs
- Templates
- Documentation
- Product updates
- License activation rights
- Download access
- Other digital resources described on the applicable product page
The exact contents, features, license level, and entitlements associated with a purchase are determined by the applicable product description at the time of purchase.
3. License Grant
Unless otherwise stated on the applicable product page, purchasing a KB Crates product grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use that product for your own business, website, organization, or authorized environment.
You are purchasing a license to use the product.
You are not purchasing ownership of the underlying software, source code, original content, designs, documentation, trademarks, or other intellectual property.
All rights not expressly granted under these Terms remain reserved by KB Crates.
4. License Activations
Some KB Crates products may require a valid license key.
The number of websites, domains, installations, WHMCS installations, WordPress installations, or other environments on which a product may be activated is determined by the license level purchased.
You may not intentionally:
- Bypass license activation
- Circumvent activation limits
- Disable or manipulate license validation
- Modify the product for the purpose of defeating licensing restrictions
- Share a license key with unauthorized third parties
You are responsible for keeping your KB Crates account credentials and license keys secure.
If you believe a license key has been compromised, you should notify KB Crates so appropriate action can be taken.
5. License Expiration and Renewals
Some KB Crates licenses may provide updates, downloads, or other entitlements for a specified period.
Unless expressly stated otherwise for a particular product, expiration of an update or renewal entitlement will not disable an already-installed copy of the product or remove previously imported content.
An expired license may generally continue operating at the version already installed.
Expiration may, however, end access to:
- New product versions
- Software updates
- Updated content packs
- New content releases
- Product downloads
- Re-download privileges
- Certain licensed online services
- Other benefits specifically tied to an active license
Renewing the license restores applicable entitlements according to the renewal terms offered at that time.
KB Crates products may periodically verify license status. Temporary inability to communicate with KB Crates licensing services should not ordinarily cause an otherwise valid installed product to immediately cease functioning.
6. Updates
Customers with applicable active licenses may receive product updates when those updates are made available.
Updates may include:
- Bug fixes
- Security improvements
- Compatibility updates
- Performance improvements
- Content corrections
- Content updates
- New knowledgebase articles
- Feature enhancements
- User interface changes
Purchasing a KB Crates product does not guarantee that any particular future feature, integration, content pack, or functionality will be developed.
Product roadmaps, planned features, previews, and development concepts are informational and may change.
KB Crates reserves the right to modify or discontinue development of products when reasonably necessary.
7. Knowledgebase Content License
Knowledgebase articles and content packs supplied by KB Crates may be imported, published, edited, customized, branded, and adapted for use within the licensed customer’s own website, customer portal, help center, knowledgebase, or business environment.
Customers may modify KB Crates knowledgebase content to reflect their own:
- Business name
- Branding
- Products
- Services
- Hosting environment
- Procedures
- Policies
- Customer requirements
You may not:
- Resell KB Crates content packs as standalone products
- Redistribute the original KB Crates content files
- Upload KB Crates product packages to public download repositories
- Share purchased content packs with unlicensed third parties
- Repackage KB Crates content for commercial resale
- Incorporate substantial portions of KB Crates content into a competing commercial knowledgebase-content product
- Sell access to the original KB Crates content library
Content legitimately imported into your own customer-facing knowledgebase may remain published after your update entitlement expires.
Expiration of a license does not require you to remove previously imported and legitimately licensed knowledgebase articles from your own website.
8. Software Restrictions
Unless expressly permitted by KB Crates, you may not:
- Resell or redistribute KB Crates software
- Provide copies of KB Crates software to unlicensed third parties
- Sell a KB Crates add-on under another product name
- Sublicense your KB Crates license
- Rent or commercially redistribute your license
- Circumvent licensing restrictions
- Publish proprietary KB Crates source code in a public repository
- Remove ownership notices for the purpose of misrepresenting authorship or ownership
- Directly copy KB Crates software for the purpose of creating a substantially identical competing commercial product
Nothing in this section prevents legitimate modification of customer-facing knowledgebase content as permitted under Section 7.
9. Backups and Installation Responsibility
You are responsible for maintaining appropriate backups before installing, updating, importing, removing, or modifying any KB Crates product.
Backups should include applicable:
- Website files
- Databases
- WHMCS installations
- WordPress installations
- Knowledgebase content
- Configuration files
- Templates
- Customizations
Software installations and updates can interact with third-party systems in unexpected ways.
You are responsible for determining whether a KB Crates product is suitable for your environment and for maintaining appropriate recovery procedures.
10. Compatibility
KB Crates may publish supported versions or system requirements for WHMCS, WordPress, PHP, or other software.
Third-party platforms may change at any time.
KB Crates cannot guarantee compatibility with every:
- Unsupported software version
- End-of-life software release
- Custom theme
- Custom template
- Modified core installation
- Third-party module
- Third-party plugin
- Server configuration
- Hosting environment
KB Crates may provide compatibility updates where reasonably practical but does not guarantee immediate compatibility with every new version released by a third party.
11. Third-Party Products and Services
Some KB Crates products interact with or provide information relating to third-party platforms and services.
All third-party trademarks, software, documentation, products, and services remain the property of their respective owners.
Your use of those third-party products remains subject to their respective licenses and terms.
A KB Crates purchase does not include a license for WHMCS, cPanel, WordPress commercial products, Plesk, Elementor, or any other third-party software unless expressly stated in the product description.
12. Accuracy of Knowledgebase Content
KB Crates strives to provide accurate and useful knowledgebase content.
However, software interfaces, hosting platforms, domain systems, security recommendations, industry practices, and third-party services can change.
Customers should review imported content before publishing it and make adjustments appropriate to their own environment.
KB Crates does not guarantee that every article will apply exactly to every:
- Hosting provider
- Server configuration
- Software version
- Business
- Website
- Customer environment
Customers remain responsible for ensuring that published instructions accurately represent the services and systems they provide.
13. Customer Customizations
You are responsible for modifications you make to KB Crates software, templates, configuration, or content.
KB Crates cannot guarantee proper operation after product files have been modified outside supported configuration or extension methods.
Software updates may replace modified product files.
Where possible, customizations should therefore be implemented using supported configuration, hook, template, extension, or integration mechanisms.
14. Refund Policy
Because KB Crates products are digital goods that may be downloaded, copied, installed, imported, or otherwise consumed immediately following purchase, sales are generally considered final once the digital product has been delivered or downloaded, except where otherwise required by applicable law.
KB Crates may consider refund requests in circumstances including:
- Duplicate charges for the same transaction
- Failure to deliver the purchased digital product
- A verified technical defect that prevents the product from functioning in a published supported environment and KB Crates is unable to provide a reasonable solution
- Circumstances where a refund is required by applicable law
Refunds generally will not be provided because:
- You changed your mind
- You no longer need the product
- You purchased the wrong product without reviewing its description
- You do not possess required third-party software
- Your environment does not meet published system requirements
- You expected a feature that was not advertised
- A planned or proposed feature has not yet been released
- You decided not to use the downloaded product
- You found another product you prefer after purchasing
Nothing in this Refund Policy limits consumer rights that cannot legally be waived or excluded.
15. Pricing and Promotions
Prices displayed on kbcrates.com may change.
A pricing change will not ordinarily alter the price of a purchase that has already been completed.
KB Crates may offer:
- Introductory pricing
- Launch pricing
- Promotional discounts
- Coupons
- Limited-time offers
- Upgrade discounts
Unless expressly stated otherwise, purchasing at a promotional price does not guarantee that future renewals, upgrades, additional licenses, or other products will remain available at that price.
Applicable taxes may be collected where required.
16. Customer Accounts
You are responsible for providing accurate information when creating an account or completing a purchase.
You are responsible for maintaining access to the email address associated with your KB Crates account.
Your account may be used to manage:
- Purchases
- License keys
- Downloads
- Renewal information
- Billing information
- Product entitlements
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.
You may not use fraudulent payment information or impersonate another person or organization when purchasing KB Crates products.
17. Chargebacks and Payment Disputes
If you believe a KB Crates transaction is incorrect, you should contact KB Crates so the transaction can be investigated.
Fraudulent chargebacks, payment reversals, or disputes involving products legitimately purchased and delivered may result in temporary or permanent suspension of associated:
- Licenses
- Download access
- Product entitlements
- Customer account privileges
Such action may remain in effect while the payment dispute is investigated.
Nothing in this section prevents a customer from exercising legitimate rights available through their financial institution, payment provider, or applicable law.
18. Security
KB Crates takes reasonable measures to develop its software with security in mind.
No software can be guaranteed to be completely free from defects or vulnerabilities.
Customers remain responsible for:
- Securing their hosting environment
- Keeping third-party software updated
- Applying appropriate security updates
- Protecting administrator credentials
- Restricting administrative access
- Maintaining backups
- Reviewing permissions and configuration
Suspected security vulnerabilities affecting KB Crates products should be responsibly reported to KB Crates privately so they can be investigated.
19. Disclaimer of Warranties
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, KB Crates products are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis.
KB Crates does not warrant that a product will:
- Be completely error-free
- Operate without interruption
- Satisfy every individual business requirement
- Remain compatible with every future third-party software release
- Produce any particular business, financial, SEO, support, or customer-service result
Any warranties that cannot legally be excluded remain unaffected.
20. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, KB Crates will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or similar damages arising from the purchase, installation, use, inability to use, or modification of a KB Crates product.
This includes, where permitted by law:
- Lost profits
- Lost revenue
- Lost data
- Website downtime
- Business interruption
- Customer claims
- Loss of goodwill
- Losses caused by third-party platform changes
Where liability cannot legally be excluded, the maximum aggregate liability arising from a particular KB Crates product will, to the maximum extent permitted by law, be limited to the amount actually paid to KB Crates for the specific product giving rise to the claim.
21. Abuse and License Termination
KB Crates may suspend or terminate a license or customer account where there is reasonable evidence of:
- Software piracy
- Unauthorized redistribution
- License circumvention
- Fraudulent payment activity
- Abuse of KB Crates services
- Attacks against KB Crates systems or infrastructure
- Unauthorized sharing of licensed products
- Material violation of these Terms
Where appropriate, KB Crates may provide the customer an opportunity to correct a violation before permanent termination.
Termination resulting from a material violation of these Terms does not automatically create a right to a refund.
22. Intellectual Property
KB Crates software, original knowledgebase content, templates, documentation, website content, graphics, branding, logos, designs, and other original materials are owned by or licensed to KB Crates and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
The KB Crates name and associated branding may not be used in a manner that falsely suggests ownership, sponsorship, partnership, affiliation, or endorsement.
Third-party trademarks referenced by KB Crates remain the property of their respective owners.
23. Changes to Products
KB Crates may modify, improve, reorganize, replace, rename, or discontinue products or features when reasonably necessary.
Updates may change a product’s:
- Appearance
- User interface
- Internal structure
- Configuration
- Features
- Compatibility
- Operation
Where practical, significant product changes will be documented through release notes, documentation, or product changelogs.
24. Changes to These Terms
KB Crates may update these Terms periodically to reflect changes in:
- Products
- Licensing
- Technology
- Business practices
- Payment processing
- Legal requirements
The current version will be identified by the Last Updated date shown at the beginning of these Terms.
Changes will generally apply prospectively from their effective date except where otherwise required by law.
25. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, unlawful, or unenforceable, that provision will be limited or removed only to the extent necessary.
The remaining provisions will remain in effect.
26. No Waiver
Failure by KB Crates to immediately enforce any provision of these Terms does not waive KB Crates’ right to enforce that provision in the future.
27. Governing Law
These Terms and any dispute arising from a purchase from KB Crates will be governed by the laws applicable to KB Crates in its established jurisdiction, without regard to conflict-of-law principles and without limiting mandatory consumer protections that may apply under applicable law.
Additional legal or business identification information may be published on kbcrates.com where required.
